Mondo Description Ethylmalonic acid encephalopathy (EE) is defined by elevated excretion of ethylmalonic acid (EMA) with recurrent petechiae, orthostatic acrocyanosis and chronic diarrhoea associated with neurodevelopmental delay, psychomotor regression and hypotonia with brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) abnormalities.
Uniprot Description Autosomal recessive disorder characterized by neurodevelopmental delay and regression, recurrent petechiae, acrocyanosis, diarrhea, leading to death in the first decade of life. It is also associated with persistent lactic acidemia and ethylmalonic and methylsuccinic aciduria.
