Tbio
GINS3
DNA replication complex GINS protein PSF3

Protein Summary
Description
The GINS complex plays an essential role in the initiation of DNA replication, and progression of DNA replication forks. GINS complex seems to bind preferentially to single-stranded DNA. This gene encodes a protein subunit of the GINS heterotetrameric complex, which is essential for the initiation of DNA replication and replisome progression in eukaryotes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
