Tbio
TRIM4
E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRIM4

Protein Summary
Description
E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Mediates 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitination of the innate immune receptor DDX58, this linkage doesn't lead to proteasomal degradation but seems to enhance IFN induction. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. The protein localizes to cytoplasmic bodies. Its function has not been identified. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
