27100087 A statistically significant loss of methylation at CpG dinucleotide sites within the non-syntenic TMEM131 gene is observed in individuals with free trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) compared with control disomic samples. The loss is independent of the maternal or the paternal origin of the chromosome 21 nondisjunction event.
