Rho-related GTP-binding protein RhoJ

Protein Summary
Description
Plasma membrane-associated small GTPase specifically involved in angiogenesis (PubMed:21628409, PubMed:24434213, PubMed:30158707). Required for endothelial cell migration during vascular development via its interaction with GLUL (PubMed:30158707). Elicits the formation of F-actin-rich structures, thereby regulating endothelial cell migration (PubMed:30158707). This gene encodes one of the many small GTP-binding proteins in the Rho family shown to be associated with focal adhesions in endothelial cells (PMID: 21148427, 22103495). The encoded protein is activated by vascular endothelial growth factor and may regulate angiogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
