Mondo Description Aspiration of meconium, blood, amniotic fluid or gastric contents around the time of delivery resulting in clinical symptoms from airway obstruction, parenchymal injury, and ventilation-perfusion mismatch. This may lead to persistent pulmonary hypertension in the newborn.
